Bolivian Criollo Black is classified as a dark tobacco, but it has many characteristics similar to a burley. It is a vigorous grower and heavy producer reaching up to 8' in height, and reaching maturity in 70 days. It produces 26 - 28 harvest able leaves per plant. The large white stemmed leaves are very sticky and reach 14" -16" in width and 30" - 36" long. The leaves turn a light green and yellow as they ripen, and air cure easily to a light brown. The flavor is similar to a medium strength burly. It can be used as a pipe tobacco, or blended with other tobaccos for cigarettes or cigar filler.

The seeds do not need any pretreatment.  Light germinator. The seeds have to be sprinkled on the substrate and pressed slightly in. Likes a sunny and warm place (15 to 20°C). It should be moist all the time but not wet. Germination occurs after 1 to 3 weeks. It grows nearly on each substrate and is quite undemanding.

Price is for 100 seeds
