sugar maple - bonsai
The sugar maple (Acer saccharum) is a tree with golden brown wood and perfectly suitable as bonsai.
For sowing, use Jiffy peat wells, swell in water and place in a plastic pot.
Spread some seeds on the peat pot and cover thinly with the sowing substrate (about 2 mm).
Then put the plastic pot in a zip-lock bag - with a pot size of 6 cm we recommend a zip-lock bag of size 120 x 170 mm. Put enough tap water in the zip-lock bag with a few drops of universal fertilizer so that a few millimeters of water remain after the substrate has been absorbed.
Further watering is not required as moisture does not evaporate through the squeeze bag.
Location: on the windowsill or in a miniature greenhouse partially shaded, during the day the temperatures should be around 24 - 28 C, at night slightly lower at 20 - 24 C.
