Acrolophia cochlearis, called the ear-like Acrolophia is an orchid native to southern Africa. It grows up to 700 m high and is fairly robust, cool growing terrestrial orchid. It flowers in spring in colours of white, yellow, brown and violet.

sowing orchid seeds : 1. Sowing the orchid seeds next to an orchid from the same genus
2. Sowing on a piece of bark
3. Sowing the orchid seeds using the so-called 'towel method'
4. Sowing over boiling water
