Nelumbo nucifera-water lily
Nelumbo nucifera-water lily
Nelumbo nucifera, also known as Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, Egyptian bean or simply lotus, is one of two extant species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. It is often colloquially called a water lily.
Those seeds have a really thick and hard seed coat which makes it almost impossible to germinate without some help.
Best is to use sandpaper or a metal file and do some work on one side of the seed until there's a little hole in its coat and then just put it into a container with water and let the seed soak at a warm place. Depending on the hole it will start to germinate within some days and can then be sown in pods which should be first submerged into a bucket and then, after it has grown a bit, into your pond
price is for 4 seeds
