Hoya lanceolata subsp. lanceolata
porcelain flower - wax flower seeds

Hoya carnosa - the wax plant - grows with long, slender vines that are covered with thick, green leathery leaves. Sometimes the leaves are also silvery white or cream colored. The wax plant forms wonderful star-shaped flowers, very variable in color. The flowers are finely detailed, evenly shaped and shiny, which is why the plant is also called porcelain flower.

Sowing takes place in plastic pots. Either commercially available mineral-based cat litter, pear-lite or pumice gravel is used as the substrate (germ-free). Spread the seeds evenly on the substrate. Cover larger seeds thinly with substrate, fine seeds can remain on the surface.

Then place the plastic pot in a zip-lock bag - for a pot size of 6 cm, a zip-lock bag size 120 x 170 mm is recommended. Pour enough tap water with a few drops of universal fertilizer into the zip-lock bag so that a few mm of water remain after the substrate has been vacuumed up.

Location: on the window sill or in a mini greenhouse in partial shade, during the day the temperatures should be around 23 - 28 C, at night a bit lower at 20 - 22 C.

Price is for 5 seeds
