Dracaena draco (Dragon Tree) is an ancient tree species now only found in the wild at the Canary Islands. Some specimen are believed to have an age of around 600 years. Dracaena draco can reach amazing heights of 10-12 meters. However, it grows rather slow.
Cultivation of Dracaena draco is usually done by seeds. To germinate Dragon Tree seeds and to transplant seedlings and plants the same soil mix is used. Make sure the mix has good drainage and contains slow releasing organic fertilizer like Worm Manure. Seeds germinate in 1-6 months. This species germinates in the light so do not cover the seeds with grit or coarse sand. The best germination temperatures are around 28 °C
