Bauhinia variegata is a small shrub or tree with attractive, fragrant flowers. They look like orchids, hence the name orchid tree. In spring and summer countless pink flowers appear. Bauhinia variegata is very well suited as a container plant.

For sowing,  swell in water and place in a plastic pot.

Spread some seeds on the peat pot and cover thinly with the sowing substrate (about 2 mm).

Then put the plastic pot in a zip-lock bag - with a pot size of 6 cm we recommend a zip-lock bag of size 120 x 170 mm. Put enough tap water in the zip-lock bag with a few drops of universal fertilizer so that a few millimeters of water remain after the substrate has been absorbed.

Location: on the windowsill or in a miniature greenhouse partially shaded, during the day the temperatures should be around 24 - 28 C, at night slightly lower at 20 - 24 C.
