Acer ginnala
Amur maple seeds

Acer ginnala, called amur maple is a low growing tree for small yards and usually less than 5 or 6 meters tall and much branched. The leaves are simple, opposite and lobed. The samaras are about 2.5 cm long and the wings are nearly parallel. The pink to red fruit clusters in summer are followed by yellow to red foliage color in the fall. Amur Maple is a hardy tree that tolerates poor soil and may be used in hedges or screens. Acer ginnala grows in zones 2 - 8.

Please use for sowing Jiffy 7 Peat Pellets, soak them in water and put in a plastic pot.
Alternatively, normal seed substrate could be used as well.

Sow the seeds on the peat pellets and cover the seeds with a thin layer of peat (about 2 mm).

Then put the plastic pot in a zip-lock bag - with a pot size of 6 cm , a zip-lock bag of size 12 x 17 cm is recommended . Fill in the zip-lock bag as much tap water with a few drops of universal fertilizer, so that after the absorption of the substrate a few mm of water remain on the bottom.

Location: on the windowsill or in a small greenhouse in partial shade, daytime temperatures at about 75-83 F, somewhat lower at night at 68-75 F. The resulting micro-climate provides ideal conditions for germination.

price is for 10 seeds
