A dwarf succulent with thick, pointed, reddish leaves arranged in four neat ranks along briefly erect or decumbent shoots and forming mats with age. Crassula capitella subsp. thyrsiflora is widespread in dry habitats in South Africa and Namibia. It is easy to grow in drier, warm temperate climates.
