Tupidanthus calyptratus
A beautiful, small ornamental tree in the Araliaceae from northeastern India and Tibet to southwestern China and Indochina between 900 and 1700 m. It grows several sparsely branching trunks to about 6 m tall with a dense crown of large, palmate leaves and mallet-shaped, green flowers. Older plants can also climb into established, taller trees up to about 30 m. It is well adapted to most warm temperate and tropical climates.
